Ronald Jamierson of Battle Creek is back home from the hospital after being shot and injured outside The Base Bar and Grill in Springfield.

Jamierson is a youth basketball coach who says the damage to his leg will be something he has to live with forever. He says about a third of one of his calf muscles had to be removed. A hospital official told Jamierson that he likely would have bled to death if he and a friend hadn't been stopped for speeding on their way to the hospital.

An officer put a tourniquet on Jamierson's leg and took them to the hospital.

Jamierson is now calling for people to put their guns down.
