# Woman Found Dead In Flint Home; Son Arrested On Other Charges
FLINT, Mich. - A 48-year-old woman was shot and killed inside her residence in Flint on Thursday and police arrested her son on unrelated charges.
Michigan State Police say authorities responded to the residence in the 3200 block of Wolcott Street on the city's west side to check on the victim's well-being. Her employer called police after she failed to show up for work.
Officers from the Flint Police Department found the woman dead from gunshot wounds inside her residence. She was not identified while detectives continue investigating her death.
Michigan State Police say the woman's son, who was not identified, was arrested on unrelated charges and taken to the Genesee County Jail. He was not facing charges related to his mother's death on Friday morning.
Authorities did not provide any information about the circumstances leading to the woman's death or a possible motive for the shooting while the investigation continued.
