Flint residents are being invited to share their thoughts on park improvement needs as part of a $20 million initiative by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
The Foundation is improving playgrounds and parks throughout Flint as part of its centennial initiative. An online site has been set up for residents to vote on what parks should be improved and what they want to see in them.
Residents can share feedback for up to three city parks by June 6, said the Foundation. Residents can also share feedback in person at the Mott Centennial Family Fun Days on Saturday, June 6 from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Flint Cultural Center.
The Foundation said residents can select from a list of potential projects created for each park, or submit their own ideas. The list was inspired by input that the City of Flint and Keep Genesee County Beautiful had already gathered.
The survey is available through an online link provided by the Foundation. This initiative represents a significant investment in Flint's public spaces and gives residents a direct voice in how the money will be spent.
