Michigan Strategic Fund Awards Controversial Copperwood Mine Up to $50 Million in State Grants

The Michigan Strategic Fund voted 7-2 Tuesday to direct up to $50 million in state grants to the long-debated Copperwood copper mine in the western Upper Peninsula, a project that would be the region's first new copper mine in more than 70 years.
