Fatal Crash on US-127 Near I-96 Leaves Two Dead, Third in Critical Condition
Early morning crash in Holt Township closed both lanes of US-127, but road has since reopened
Two Holt men died after an early Sunday morning crash on US-127 near Interstate 96, and a third driver from Lansing remains hospitalized in critical condition, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office said.
A vehicle driven by a 28-year-old Lansing man traveling northbound on US-127 went off the road where the freeway crosses I-96 about 3:10 a.m. May 17.
Two Holt men, both 39, died from injuries sustained in the crash. The 28-year-old Lansing man was transported to a Lansing area hospital and is in critical condition.
Multiple Police Departments Responded to Fatal Crash
Northbound and southbound lanes of US-127 were shut down to safely investigate the crash but have since reopened.
Deputies were assisted by the Ingham Regional Crash Investigation Team, with personnel from the Lansing Township, Michigan State University and East Lansing police departments as well as Michigan State Police responding.
