A 36-year-old man died after a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Walker on Friday night, police said.

The Walker Police Department responded to the crash on Wilson Avenue near Richmond Street at about 8:20 p.m. on June 19, according to a police release. Officers found the motorcyclist at the scene. Life-saving measures were performed, but the rider died before he could be transported.

Police have not identified the victim. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, officials said.

"Police have yet to determine a cause for the crash. An investigation is ongoing," according to News Channel 3.

The Walker Fire Department and Life EMS assisted police at the scene. Wilson Avenue was closed between Remembrance and Leonard streets during the response, according to local reports. Traffic has since resumed.

The crash was the only vehicle involved, local reports confirmed. The incident did not involve a pedestrian, despite early rumors on social media.
