Body Discovered Along East Bank of Saginaw River
A passerby riding a moped discovered a Bay City man's body lying along the Saginaw River on Thursday afternoon in Zilwaukee Township.
Sheriff Investigates Cause of Death
The Saginaw County Sheriff's Office says the 50-year-old man's body was partially in the water along the east bank of the river in the 2100 block of Bay City Road around 2:10 p.m.
No Apparent Signs of Crime At Scene
The moped rider went to a nearby hotel and asked people there to call 911.
Investigators could not immediately say how the man died, but there were no apparent signs of crime at the scene.
Medical Examiner to Determine Cause of Death
Authorities did not release his name Thursday evening.
The Saginaw County Medical Examiner's Office took custody of the body and was planning an autopsy Friday morning to help determine a cause of death.
"A body was found partially submerged in the Saginaw River in Zilwaukee Township, according to the Saginaw County Sheriff's Office."
The Saginaw County Sheriff's Office confirmed the discovery to local news outlets.
